This portfolio of work is a journey, a search to find an aesthetic and to represent a form of otherworldly spirit. Being human means, inevitably some form of limitation, yet the ancient deities did not have such restrictions. Within their forms it is possible to grasp infinity.

 

I am trying to present something that is beautiful, not because of so called perfect or balanced form but because of the inner beauty, stillness and ethereal nature that these works infer.

 

My relationship to this work is one of both feeling (an intensely whole experience) to one of detail and craft, where the careful and implicit application of paint and mark create the work, these somehow combine to form this connection. I enjoy being surrounded by these paintings, this experience made perhaps more so by their size and presence.

 

Our ever-changing world meets full-on, the original and seminal thoughts of a classical culture in the hyper-speeded to the still. These contrasts, like the cold passion of the Gods they represent, are forever intoned in our collective psyches.
